This past weekend I had the privilege, as a new member of the Mid-West Tool Collectors Association (M-WTCA), to attend a regional tool meet in Humboldt, Iowa. As a newbie, I was overwhelmed by the wealth of knowledge represented by the attending members, not to mention the variety and number of old tools. As fodder for future posts, I’m sharing the photos from the event. There are no captions yet but you can get a sense of the scope of the event.
The first day of the event was a tool auction. The tools in the photos that have numbered white tags were the items sold at auction.
That evening, the members and their significant others were invited to the home of the president of the association. He and his wife hosted a party in his new barn that houses thousands of collectible tools.
The following day, members had the opportunity to set up displays of their collections. Plus dealers set up their items for sale at the opposite end of the building.
I’ll be profiling some of the collectors and long-time members of the association in future posts. In the meantime, enjoy the photos by clicking on the box below.
